The pop superstar, who has been nominated for Leading Actress at the 2019 EE BAFTAs next month, took to Twitter to release an emotional statement about the controversial singer. The rapper, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, has denied sexual assault allegations against him. However, following the airing of documentary series Surviving R Kelly he is being probed by police in the US State of Georgia. Posting to her 77.6 million followers, Gaga said: "I stand behind these women 100%, believe them, know they are suffering and in pain, and feel strongly that their voices should be heard and taken seriously "What I am hearing about the allegation against R Kelly is absolutely horrifying and indefensible." Speaking frankly about her own personal struggles, the Las Vegas resident added: "As a victim of sexual assault myself, I made both the song and the video at a dark time in my life, my intention was to create something extremely defiant and provocative because I was angry and still hadn’t processed the trauma that had occurred in my own life. The song is called Do What U Want (With My Body), I think it’s clear how explicitly twisted my thinking was at the time. "If I could go back and have a talk with my younger self I’d tell her to go through the therapy I have since then, so that I could understand the confused post-traumatic state that I was in—or if therapy was not available to me or anyone in my situation—to seek help, and speak as openly and honestly as possible about what we’ve been through." Referring to the 2013 single, Gaga added: "I intend to remove the song off of iTunes and other streaming platforms and will not be working with him again. "I am sorry, both for my poor judgement when I was young, and not for speaking out sooner. I love you." During the track Gaga sings: "Do what you want, what you want with my body/ Do what you want, don't stop, let's party." She adds: "You can't have my heart, and you won't use my mind/ But do what you want with my body." Meanwhile, Kelly continues: "Back of the club, taking shots, gettin' naughty/ No invitations, it's a private party. "Do what I want, do what I want with your body BY KITS MIIRO.
